The advantages of synthetic lubricant base stocks stem not only from their basic molecular structures, but also from the absence of harmful molecular species, which are frequently present in small but significant concentrations in conventional mineral oils. While many, if not most, of the harmful compounds are removed or upgraded by refining, depending on the methods used, a significant number will inevitably remain in lubricating oil stocks, whether solvent- or hydro treated.

The automotive lubricants brands in India estimates that three generic groups account for approximately 80% of the global synthetic lubricant market: polysulfaolejins (45%), organic esteia (25%), and polyglycols (10%).

Phosphate esters and polyhirtenes are likely to have the highest rules of volumes of the remaining synthetic lubricants accounting for about S percent of the total. They are used in the installation, repair, and operation of high-voltage oil-filled equipment.
